Nicolas’ Bio


Nicolas Nova is a researcher at the Media and Design Lab at the Swiss Institute of Technology, Lausanne and one of the organisers of the LIFT conference. Nicolas received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the EPFL where his dissertation looked at the relationship between location-awareness and computer-supported collaboration.

Nicolas’ blog is widely regarded as an major contribution to the synthesis and analysis of academic and commercial perspectives on ubiquitous and pervasive computing, digital social life and electronic gaming. He speaks and lectures widely on these topics at such institutions and conferences as Mediamatic (Amsterdam), the Institute for the Future (Palo Alto), Experientia (Torino), the Annenberg Center for Communication (Los Angeles), Ubicomp, NordicCHI to name just a few.
