While there’s no doubt you’ll learn quite a bit at Nokia’s studio, I have to confess thinking it’s a shame you aren’t experiencing Design from the ground up; as a beginning design student working and studying among other students who’ve arrived with no preconceived notions of a problem-solving process. I personally found the shift from engineering to (d)esign at that level especially insightful and rewarding.

That said, I wish you all the best in this new endeavor.

This, coupled with the looong NYT piece on Jan’s work, totally makes my week.

You know I am the very furthest thing from a cheerleader for corporate institutions, but in this case I think that Nokia is putting together an absolutely unbeatable collection of outstanding individuals. I’m so hugely looking forward to the opportunity to work together.
